Many research results remain unused due to a lack of partners and market access. We, the HIHR team, help you to implement your ideas and connect you with companies, clinics and relevant networks.
The L3S Research Center is the largest research center for artificial intelligence in northern Germany, supported by Leibniz Universität Hannover and TU Braunschweig. With around 200 researchers from the fields of computer science, law, economics and social sciences, it develops trustworthy AI methods for medicine, mobility, production, trade, science and education. Its aim is to shape the digital transformation responsibly and to unlock the potential of AI for the economy, society and a more liveable future.
The Lower Saxony Center for Biomedical Engineering, Implant Research and Development (NIFE) is a joint research facility of Hannover Medical School, Leibniz University Hannover and the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover Foundation. NIFE develops biological, biohybrid and biofunctionalized implants that are designed to replace lost organ functions or restore them through regenerative processes. The aim is to develop patient-specific, durable and safe solutions that integrate seamlessly into the surrounding tissue.
CAIMed is the Lower Saxony research center for artificial intelligence and causal methods in medicine. By combining cutting-edge research, clinical data and patient-oriented care, we develop innovative approaches for better clinical decisions and personalized diagnostics and therapy. In this way, we contribute to a more effective fight against widespread diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases and infections.
FWT2 is the central office of Hannover Medical School for all topics, questions and tasks relating to research funding, knowledge and technology transfer. We support all life scientists in all aspects of career planning, coaching and qualification.
We support companies, partners and investors in all matters relating to knowledge and technology transfer. We advise founders and start-ups in special service and start-up offers.

Metropolregion Hannover Braunschweig Göttingen Wolfsburg GmbH networks business, science and local authorities in order to strengthen the region as a strong living and economic area. In the field of healthcare, it initiates projects, acquires third-party funding and promotes innovation - for example with the projectsCoCareLab,One Click To Evidenceandthe annual HealthHack, an established hackathon format that now radiates beyond the borders of the metropolitan region.
Digital Hannover promotes digital education - also in medicine. The aim is to communicate new technologies and scientific developments in an understandable way and thus strengthen society's digital skills.
Niedersachsen.next BioRegioN is Niedersachsen's network for the life sciences. As a central point of contact, BioRegioN brings together players from business, science and politics in order to utilize the region's research potential and transform it into marketable innovations at an early stage. It also offers targeted support for cooperation projects as well as comprehensive information on funding programs and industry trends.

Premises & infrastructure
Lack of laboratory or workshop space slows down projects. We, the HIHR team, provide access to modern infrastructures in technology centers, whether medical parks or our own start-up centers .

Transfer often fails due to a lack of know-how. Our workshops and training courses on innovation, regulation, financing and future trends provide you with the best possible preparation.
